New e-Payments system will pay its way
The likely value of the system to be bought is such that the partnership will have to follow EU procurement rules. The ball has been set rolling with the European-wide publication of a Pre Qualification Questionnaire that will allow the partnership to short list suppliers to receive an Invitation to Tender.
Under the new service, system support costs will fall or stay the same while the costs levied by the system provider per transaction will drop significantly.
The existing partners of Cannock Chase, Lichfield, Newcastle-under-Lyme, the County Council and Staffordshire Moorlands will be joined in the new service by Stafford. The existing e-Payments service is provided by Civica.
